HeiTech Joins AFCEA to Support Children and Families

Landover, Md. – HeiTech Services, Inc. excitedly announces its sponsorship and participation with AFCEA Bethesda’s “A Night for the Children” Gala. This year’s gala will continue the tradition helping children in the local community by benefiting two charities — The Children’s Inn at NIH and the House of Ruth. The 2014 gala will take place at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C. on March 22.

HeiTech Services is committed to improving the lives of others. We take pride in the fact that we are in position to do so and are enthusiastic about joining AFCEA Bethesda in their efforts to improve the health and welfare of children and their families. Their “A Night for the Children” Gala has grown to become one of the largest supporters of the Children’s Inn, helping transform an ambitious effort into a financially sound organization that supports children undergoing treatment at the National Institute for Health (NIH) and their families.

While continuing to support the Children’s Inn, AFCEA Bethesda sought to replicate its charitable success through the addition of another worthy organization that supports children and their families. After a rigorous review, including dozens of locally-based charities that support the health and welfare of children, the AFCEA Bethesda board unanimously selected the DC House of Ruth.

“At HeiTech Services, we believe that ‘giving back’ is an obligation,” said HeiTech Services President/CEO Heidi Gerding. “And it is an obligation we joyfully contribute to. We are pleased to be on board and support these two incredible charities.”

We hope you can join us and AFCEA Bethesda at the 2014 “A Night for the Children” Gala. Limited tickets are available now!

About the Charities

The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health is a residential “place like home” for sick children and their families. Children come from across the country and around the world to stay together with their families in The Inn’s healing environment while receiving groundbreaking medical treatments at the NIH, the world’s leading biomedical research center. While the NIH takes care of the child’s medical needs, The Inn tends to the child’s heart, soul and spirit.

The House of Ruth annually assists more than 1,000 women and children who were homeless and abused. The agency operates 14 programs in the District of Columbia, including Kidspace, a therapeutic child development center for homeless children, the Domestic Violence Support Center, providing counseling to survivors of domestic violence, and 12 residential programs for homeless women and families. On any given day, more than 200 children call House of Ruth home.
