2014 Mentor of the Year

HeiTech Services, Inc. Named Mentor of the Year
HeiTech Services, Inc. joins 7 outstanding companies selected as exceptional small business mentors

Washington, D.C. – HeiTech Services, Inc. (HeiTech) is proud to announce that the company has been selected as a Mentor of the Year by the Government Technology & Services Coalition (GTSC) and Government Contracting Weekly. “The Mentors,” a Special Award Program that recognizes companies that mentor and contribute to the success of small businesses, will recognize companies June 12 in Arlington, Virginia. HeiTech joins B3 Solutions, BAE Systems, General Dynamics Information Technology, InfoPro, L3 National Security Solutions, REI Systems, and Serco as GTSC’s 2014 Mentors of the Year.

“Mentoring has had a lasting impact on the growth and successes of HeiTech Services,” stated President/CEO Heidi Gerding. “Having access, forecasting, and input to key decision-making from professionals and organizations that been down your path can mean all the difference in the government contracting industry. Our experience, as a protégé, facilitated our decision to seek and mentor an emerging company.”

HeiTech conducted a nationwide search in 2012 and identified AMTIS, Inc. – a woman and service-disabled, veteran-owned, 8(a) small business. AMTIS embodied all that HeiTech was before successfully graduating from its small business programs. AMTIS President/CEO Barbara Stankowski has a U.S. Navy background that seemingly sealed the deal. Gerding was thrilled for the opportunity to mentor another motivated and determined female, veteran entrepreneur. HeiTech and its staff provide mentoring in multiple areas of the business supporting AMTIS’ development to build their business base and infrastructure to successfully participate and graduate from the 8(a) Business Development Program.

“GTSC is proud to recognize these corporate citizens that partner with, and support the growth and development of small companies in the Federal market. Their mentoring and assistance is a critical component of a small business’ success and we are excited to recognize their contribution, said Kristina Tanasichuk, CEO of the Government Technology & Services Coalition. “We are excited to award these good stewards some recognition for their contribution to the success of small businesses and ultimately a more effective use of Federal taxpayer dollars,” said Jim McCarthy, owner and technical director of AOC Key Solutions and host/moderator of Government Contracting Weekly.

The award nominations process ran from December 2013 to February 2014. Small government contractors working in the Federal market submitted nominations for firms that supported their growth and development in tangible ways.
