Gerding Lends a Voice and Support for Veteran Business Owners

McLean, Va. – HeiTech Services President/CEO, Heidi Gerding, recently participated in two panel discussions in support of veteran business owners. The panel discussions took place November 19, 2014 as part of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority’s (FCEDA) “Procurement Academy” series in McLean, VA.

FCEDA’s “Procurement Academy” is a series of comprehensive workshops focused on various aspects of the procurement process, from start to finish. Monthly workshops emphasize practical strategies for success and provide the essential elements business owners need to function effectively in today’s procurement arena. The November workshop was centered on resources and opportunities for veteran-owned businesses.

“I am humbled and honored to support my fellow veteran business owners,” stated Gerding. “While an increasing amount of information is available for today’s veteran business owners, events such as these have a key role. The exchange of experiences and knowledge that take place provide veteran business owners with the tools they need to excel in the federal contracting industry.”

Gerding, a former U.S. Navy Lieutenant, is an advocate of veteran and small business enterprise. A veteran entrepreneur, Gerding also serves the role of President for the National Veterans Small Business Coalition (NVSBC), an organization centered on transitioning veterans into business owners servicing the federal government.
